For the holidays we decided to take a 2016 Toyota Tacoma into the forest to cut down a Christmas Tree. Thankfully, there was plenty of snow.

It’s too bad you got it in the winter time to test, since any test of a vehicles capability in winter time is really just a function of tires, and the adventure’s aren’t going to really show off much of the truck in those conditions. Still, I always enjoy new Tacoma reviews.

Irony is that the reason we got the truck stuck was a broken jeep was making its way down the trail and we gave it the right-of-way. That’s the Jeep owner with the shovel. :p (We had a better one in the truck.)

Sorry, I really like Subarus but let’s be realistic here, the limiter was the tires. Properly equipped the TRD off-road will eat Subarus for lunch on any off-road situation. No replacement for locking diffs, low-range and crawl modes.

STi has 3 LSD and the center one has an electric locker....or full open if you really want to hoon.....that said tires have everything to do with it....the problem around here his everyone uses AT or MT tires in the winter on their trucks. I’ve already passed my neighbor 2 times on my street in the snow he was stuck in the road with his TRD and all-terrain tires while i was plowing slow over my bumper going around him with snow tires.

I was with the guys in the blue ‘09 Tacoma. Sad to see we didn’t make the video, but not surprising since my friend forgot to take the e-brake off when we were stuck and you helped get us out. Great looking video!
